Preliminary plan (December 2024)

The post-convention wine trip will begin on June 26 and end in Vancouver on July 2. This trip will feature 4-5 wine dinners and at least 6-7 winery visits in the Okanagan region of British Columbia.  Information on the Okanagan region and wineries can be found at the end of this article: Cost is $4039 per person, double occupancy.

Current Itinerary

Day 1 – 26 JUN (THU) – CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA – BANFF • Meet your Tour Director and Coach Driver to begin your custom tour• Experience the awe-inspiring Icefields Parkway past towering peaks and immense hanging glaciers to the Columbia Icefield for a thrilling ride on the Ice Explorer. • Discover the power of nature as you drive on the Athabasca Glacier. • Continue to Banff area for a welcome dinner at your hotel. • (D) Note* Coach boarding to begin at 7:30am at predetermined location (TBD) for departure no later than 8:00am

Day 2 – 27 JUN (FRI) – BANFF – LAKE LOUISE – GLACIER NATIONAL PARK – KELOWNA • Breakfast is served on top of Sulphur Mountain. • Take a scenic ride on the Globus Local Favorite Banff Gondola to the top of the mountain and enjoy spectacular views of the valley below as you savor a flavorful meal. • Depart Banff to visit Lake Louise, whose blue-green waters form a perfect mirror reflection of Mount Victoria. • Afterwards, drive west over the Continental Divide. • View the panoramic vistas of peaks exceeding 10,000 feet on Rogers Pass at the summit in Canada’s Glacier National Park. • Continue to the Okanagan Valley to the thriving lakefront resort community of Kelowna. • (B)

Day 3 – 28 JUN (SAT) – KELOWNA • Spend the day in wine country to visit a winery for a tour and tasting. • This evening, enjoy a wine dinner at a local restaurant. • (B,D)

Day 4 – 29 JUN (SUN) – KELOWNA • Spend the day in wine country to visit a winery for a tour and tasting. • This evening, enjoy a wine dinner at a local restaurant. • (B,D)

Day 5 – 30 JUN (MON) – KELOWNA – VANCOUVER • Depart the Okanagan Valley to tour Vancouver, including the waterfront, Chinatown, and Stanley Park with its old-growth evergreen forests and totem poles. • This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. • (B,D)

Day 6 – 01 JUL (TUE) – VANCOUVER. EXCURSION TO GRANVILLE PUBLIC MARKET • Journey to Granville Island Public Market to enjoy free time to make your way through the vibrant stalls and sample homemade delights, such as maple-cured salmon, ciabatta bread, artisanal chocolates, Canadian cheeses, and fresh-made doughnuts. • This evening celebrate with an unforgettable farewell sunset dinner cruise as the vibrant city of Vancouver comes to life in a remarkable way on this evening excursion. • With a backdrop of live music, embark a beautiful floating restaurant for a magical West Coast themed dinner and cruising experience past the downtown skyline, Canada Place cruise ship terminal, the majestic mountains behind the North Shore and the West Vancouver shoreline. • As the city’s most beloved icons float by, you’ll have the best spot in town to watch the sun slowly disappear into the Pacific Ocean. • (B,D)

Day 7 – 02 JUL (WED) – DEPART VANCOUVER, CANADA

 

The current estimated cost for the trip is approximately $4,039 per person, double occupancy.  This is peak season in Canada and the Pacific Northwest in general, so costs reflect the season.  Costs do not include airfare from Vancouver to your next destination, but do include all meals, lodging and travel during the trip.
