We need your help making a critical decision regarding the wine tour we’ll be doing in Barcelona. But first, here are some initial details about what we’re planning:
As announced in Taipei, we’re going to be doing a tour of Spain’s northern wine regions as part of our convention wine activities in Barcelona. The trip will be 7-9 days and have a mix of wine, fine food, and sightseeing. Likely regions we’ll visit will include Aragon, Navarra, La Rioja, Pais Vasco, Ribera Del Duero, and Madrid, with the trip ending with at least a day or two in Madrid.
We would expect the wine tour days to hit a minimum of two wineries and to have a wine dinner in the evening.
The trip will be by motor coach and we’re designing the trip to not require more than 3-4 hours of traveling in any day with some days acting as a base of operations for activities/wineries in the area.
We’re targeting 24 people as the starting point for planning this. Based on that number an all inclusive cost for this would be approximately $3,500-4,000 per person. If we get additional registrations beyond the first 24 we’ll open up the trip to a cap of 40, which would reduce the per person cost.
If we end up doing the wine tour post convention, serious travelers will have an option to fly into Madrid about 10 days before convention and do a tour of southern Spain through the travel agent organizing our trip, then return to Madrid on our tour.
